Job description

Hanwha Materials, is a leading global provider of advanced engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries. The Company’s primary businesses focus on jet engine components, aerospace fastening systems and titanium structural parts necessary for mission-critical performance and efficiency in aerospace and defense applications, as well as forged wheels for commercial transportation.

Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Generalist provides hands on assistance in recruitment and hiring, onboarding new employees, general advice and counsel to internal partners on payroll, benefits, and time keeping questions. This role will also support strategies, policies and programs related to employee engagement, talent development, succession planning and other general human resource topics for Hanwha Materials Savannah.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, ensuring issues are addressed promptly, fairly, and consistently.
  • Promote positive employee relations and support a strong safety culture.
  • Conduct employee investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions in collaboration with HR leadership.
  • Manage full-cycle hourly recruitment including job postings, screening, interviewing, offer creation and coordinating new hire onboarding.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure completion of onboarding tasks and training.
  • Coordinate training sessions including safety, quality, compliance, and skill-based training.
  • Support the planning and execution of HR initiatives such as employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Manage the hourly employee performance review program, ensuring timely evaluations, tracking completion, and providing guidance to supervisors as needed.
  • Support open enrollment processes and employee questions regarding benefits, FMLA, STD/LTD, and other leave policies.
  • Maintain records of employee leave and ensure documentation is in compliance with federal/state laws.
  • Maintain personnel files and HRIS data with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws (EEOC, FLSA, ADA, etc.) and company policies.
  • Prepare reports for leadership regarding HR metrics (turnover, attendance, training, etc.)
  • Collaborate with payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Assist in the development, communication, and enforcement of HR policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Marketing, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 year of experience in general human resources.


This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience recruiting for a manufacturing or hourly workforce
  • 5+ years of experience payroll and benefits
  • 5+ years of experience with HR information systems
