Job description

First Merchants Bank is seeking an innovative visionary Business Intelligence & Workflow Automation Senior Analyst to join the HR Technology, Analytics, and Process Team! This role will support transformational projects and process improvements for HR through analytics, automation, and data visualization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced proficiency in Power BI and Power Automate, leveraging these tools to design scalable reporting solutions, automate workflows, and deliver actionable insights that drive informed decision-making across the organization. This position is eligible to be performed remotely for candidates residing in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, or Tennessee.

As part of this role you will: 

  • Analyze HR business processes and reporting for automation or AI opportunities.
  • Create and update visual process flow maps to accurately represent the movement and processing of information within low code applications like UKG.
  • Configure and maintain analytics Power BI dashboards.
  • Produce scripts to prepare, validate, and upload data into enterprise applications.
  • Serve as back up support for HRIS systems and reporting.
  • Execute change control activities by coordinating, documenting, reviewing, and implementing changes in accordance with established change management standards to minimize operational risk and ensure business continuity.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies.

To be successful in this position, we require the following:       

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • A minimum of four (4) years of application/business/systems or reporting experience, or equivalent military experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI and Excel.
  • Proficiency in SQL queries.
  • Experience in applying business processes into system workflows.

The following would be a plus:

  • Experience in data collection, analysis, or reporting
  • Strong continuous improvement, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma principles
  • Process improvement mindset
