Description

Financial Systems Specialist II
The Financial Systems Specialist II is a key contributor to the financial systems team, driving digital transformation across financial functions. This role emphasizes advanced expertise in Workday Financials, Alteryx-based data automation, and AI-enabled process automation within enterprise systems to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and enhance data integrity. The specialist partners with Controllership, IT, and business stakeholders to design, implement, and continuously improve scalable, automated financial solutions.

Essential Functions
  • Develop deep expertise in Workday Financials ecosystem (Core Financials, Prism Analytics, Reporting, Accounting Center, Adaptive Planning), acting as a subject matter expert for system capabilities and enhancements
  • Design, build, and optimize Alteryx workflows to automate data preparation, reconciliation, and reporting processes across financial systems
  • Identify and implement AI-enabled and rule-based automation within Workday and related systems to streamline financial processes and reduce manual effort
  • Collaborate with Controllership, Audit, IT, and business teams to gather requirements and implement scalable system solutions
  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable functional and technical requirements
  • Provide day-to-day support for financial systems, including issue resolution, user support, and continuous improvement
  • Configure, test, and deploy system changes, including Workday configurations and integrations
  • Develop and maintain system integrations and automated data pipelines across enterprise platforms
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy through automated validations, reconciliations, and issue resolution
  • Analyze existing processes and data flows to identify inefficiencies and implement standardized, automated solutions
  • Lead or support small-to-medium projects using Agile methodology, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
  • Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, workflows, and business processes, and partner with teams to update policies and procedures

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Strong experience with ERP financial systems (e.g., Workday Financials, Oracle NetSuite, SAP) or a robust IT background (systems, data, automation, or application development using AI) with the ability to quickly learn and support ERP financial platforms
  • Experience with process automation tools and concepts (e.g., Workday business process frameworks, workflow tools, or RPA)
  • Proficiency in SQL or Python and working with large datasets
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau
  • Strong analytical mindset with a focus on process efficiency and automation
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to identify and implement automation opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to explain system workflows and automation solutions to business users
  • Customer-service oriented with strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing or supporting Workday Financial modules
  • Experience with Workday business process configuration and workflow automation
  • Experience building Alteryx workflows in production environments
  • Exposure to RPA or system-based automation tools with focused on process efficiency
  • Background in both financial services and information systems
