Job Summary:
Focus Financial Partners is seeking an experienced and strategic Workday Financials Lead to lead the design, deployment, and ongoing optimization of their Workday Core Financials environment. This role is critical in advancing their financial systems strategy and maximizing the power of Workday to enable accounting, financial operations, and reporting. The position involves partnering with Finance, Technology, and Operations stakeholders to ensure a best-in-class Workday platform that supports growth and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the strategic Workday FinTech Lead—partnering closely with Finance, and Technology to ensure the system meets current and future financial management needs
• Work with Finance leadership to translate operational, reporting, and compliance requirements into scalable Workday solutions
• Drive Workday governance, roadmap planning, and resource coordination with an emphasis on financial capabilities and business outcomes
• Oversee feature releases, semi-annual updates, module implementations, and system changes; ensure readiness across finance, accounting, procurement, and reporting teams
• Evaluate and recommend enhancements across Workday Financials (e.g., Accounting, Financial Reporting, Projects, Procurement, Expenses) and Adaptive Planning to improve efficiency, data integrity, and auditability
• Lead and mentor Workday support resources, balancing daily financial operations support with larger strategic initiatives
• Configure, test, and deploy functionality within Workday—especially within Core Financials—and ensure integrations and data flows support downstream business processes
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for financial workflows, security roles, integration points, and data governance
• Champion continuous improvement and user adoption of Workday across finance functions through education, documentation, and best practices
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline—or equivalent professional experience
• Strong experience with Workday Financials (or formal Workday finance training) and Workday Adaptive is highly preferred; understanding of Workday HCM is a plus
• 8+ years of experience in financial systems management, ERP administration, or enterprise application support
• Deep functional understanding of financial workflows, accounting structures, period close, reporting, and data governance within Workday or similar ERPs
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, translate financial requirements into system capabilities, and deliver scalable solutions
• Experience in fast-paced, multi-entity, or decentralized environments is a plus
