Job description

The opportunity
Unity is seeking a Workday Finance Business Analyst to join our Enterprise Systems team, embedded as a key partner to the Finance organization. In this role, you will own the day-to-day configuration, support, and continuous improvement of Workday Financials, serving as the primary point of escalation for Finance team requests while also driving the delivery of strategic system initiatives that support Unity's broader business priorities.

This is a dual-impact role: you will be equally at home resolving a configuration issue in the morning and contributing to a cross-functional system enhancement project in the afternoon. You are someone who builds deep trust with Finance stakeholders, communicates technical solutions clearly to non-technical audiences, and takes pride in the reliability and quality of the systems you support.

What you'll be doing

  • Serve as the primary Workday Financials administrator and day-to-day support contact for the Finance team, triaging and resolving configuration issues, user requests, and system inquiries with a high degree of responsiveness and quality
  • Diagnose and resolve Workday Financials configuration issues across modules, including Financial Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Expenses, Procurement, and/or Banking & Settlement
  • Partner with Finance stakeholders to gather, document, and translate business requirements into functional design specifications and Workday configuration solutions
  • Support and deliver enhancements, new feature rollouts, and process improvements in Workday Financials, from requirements through testing and change management
  • Participate in Workday semi-annual release cycles - reviewing release notes, assessing functional impact, coordinating user acceptance testing, and managing deployment
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date system documentation, including configuration guides, business process flows, and training materials
  • Collaborate with the broader Enterprise Systems team on cross-functional initiatives involving Workday HCM, Adaptive Planning, Integrations, and third-party connected systems
  • Work with Finance leadership to support strategic priorities such as process automation, reporting improvements, and scalability initiatives tied to company growth
  • Act as a bridge between Finance and IT, ensuring system changes are delivered with appropriate controls, testing rigor, and minimal disruption to financial operations
  • Manage support tickets and project tasks through a defined intake and prioritization process, communicating status and expectations proactively to stakeholders

What we're looking for

  • 3-5+ years of hands-on Workday Financials configuration and support experience in a business analyst or functional analyst capacity
  • Deep working knowledge of one or more Workday Financial Management modules, with the ability to configure business processes, validation rules, condition rules, and security independently
  • Demonstrated ability to support day-to-day Finance operations while simultaneously contributing to project-based work and strategic initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder management skills - you can navigate competing priorities, manage expectations across Finance and IT, and communicate clearly at all levels
  • Experience conducting business requirements gathering, gap analysis, and writing functional design documents
  • Solid understanding of core finance and accounting concepts (GAAP, month-end close, AP/AR workflows, expense management) and how they translate to Workday configuration
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple open requests and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative approach to problem-solving, with a track record of building trusted relationships with Finance business partners

You might also have

  • Workday Pro certification in Financial Management
  • Experience supporting Workday in a publicly traded company with SOX compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with Workday Adaptive Planning and its relationship to the Financials module
  • Exposure to Workday Prism Analytics or Workday Reporting (composite reports, matrix reports, calculated fields)
  • Experience with NetSuite, RevPro, Blackline, or other Finance-adjacent applications that integrate with Workday
  • Prior experience supporting a Finance team through a Workday optimization or module expansion project

Additional information

  • Relocation support is not available for this position
  • Work visa/immigration sponsorship is not available for this position
$91,700.00 - $137,500.00

This range reflects the anticipated base salary for this position. Beyond base salary, this role may be eligible for equity awards and participation in our company incentive plans (such as annual discretionary bonuses or sales commissions). The final offer amount will depend on several factors, including geographic location and the candidate's relevant experience, professional background, and skill set.
