Job Description Sr. Technologist, Workday Finance Functional Analyst Hybrid (onsite in Texas) Summary: The Workday Finance Systems Analyst is a functional role within the Workday Center of Excellence (COE), responsible for the day-to-day configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's Workday Financials platform. This role supports our client's enterprise-wide Workday Financials environment across all operational entities.

This individual supports operations across financial management, spend management, financial planning, and analytics and reporting. Working closely with Accounting, Finance, FP&A, Procurement, and other financial stakeholders, the Analyst ensures the platform is accurately configured, end users are supported, and continuous improvements are delivered in alignment with organizational priorities. Executes Workday configuration and enhancements within established governance, design standards, and product roadmap priorities defined by the Director and Technology Product Management.

Ensures all changes maintain system integrity, compliance, and alignment to enterprise finance processes. Operates within a product-based delivery model and participates in design reviews, raises risks, and ensures configurations align to approved standards. Responsibilities: Financial Management Configuration Configure and maintain the Workday Financial Management suite, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Projects, and Banking.

Design, implement, and maintain business process frameworks, approval workflows, account posting rules, custom validations, and financial controls within Workday. Support chart of accounts maintenance, accounting period setup, journal entry rule updates, and financial close configurations. Document configuration changes and maintain up-to-date configuration workbooks, ensuring decisions align with internal control requirements and organizational policy.

Configure solutions in alignment with approved design standards, governance controls, and roadmap priorities. Escalate design conflicts, risks, and control gaps. Spend Management Configure and maintain Workday Spend Management, including procure-to-pay processes, strategic sourcing setups, supplier accounts, requisitions, purchase orders, change orders, expense reports, and contract management.

Partner with Procurement and AP teams to troubleshoot and refine spend workflows and approval chain configurations. Support updates to spend thresholds, purchasing policies, and approval hierarchies within Workday as directed. Own supplier onboarding configuration and payment terms management in partnership with procurement and AP.

Financial Planning (Workday Adaptive Planning) Support configuration and ongoing maintenance of the Workday Adaptive Planning environment, including Financial Planning, Workforce Planning, Operational Planning, and Close and Consolidation. Work with FP&A users to implement planning requirements in Workday Adaptive, supporting budgeting, forecasting, workforce planning, and long-range scenario planning cycles. Contribute to end-user training materials and help drive adoption of best practices across the planning community.

Reporting &Analytics Gather reporting requirements from stakeholders and translate them into Workday-delivered solutions that align with organizational KPIs and financial metrics. Collaborate with the Workday Reporting & Analytics team to provide requirements for development. Ensure accuracy and integrity of Workday data; validate integration outputs and downstream impacts.

System Support & Continuous Improvement Serve as a first-line support resource for end-user issues related to financial transactions, business process errors, and Workday navigation across all supported modules. Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) for configuration changes, enhancements, and Workday semi-annual release updates affecting finance modules, documenting results and flagging issues. Validate that delivered functionality meets defined business outcomes and complies with control requirements.

Contribute through analysis, execution, and validation within defined standards. Proactively develop Workday expertise through Workday Community resources, training opportunities, and on-the-job experience, and identify certification needs in partnership with organizational leaders. Act as a steward of system integrity by preventing non-compliant or uncontrolled configuration changes.

Requirements: 3-6 years of experience in financial systems, ERP administration, or a finance operations role; direct Workday Financials experience strongly preferred. Hands-on experience configuring or supporting Workday Financial Management and/or Workday Adaptive Planning. Foundational understanding of financial processes including the full accounting cycle, procure-to-pay, FP&A, and financial reporting.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication skills with a customer-service orientation and the ability to work effectively across Finance, Accounting, and Procurement teams. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

Position requires little to moderate physical activity. Handling of average weight objects up to 15 pounds; occasional standing or walking; frequently at a keyboard, workstation, or desk. Certifications: Workday Pro Certification in Financial Management (required).

Workday Pro Platform Administrator Certification (highly preferred). Workday Pro Certification in Adaptive Planning (preferred).
