Certified Medical Coder (Remote) – Inpatient/Outpatient
Location: Remote (Initial onsite training in Bronx, NY for 1–2 weeks)
Duration: 3–6+ Months Contract (Strong possibility of extension/full-time conversion)
Pay Rate: $35-$38/hour
We are seeking experienced Certified Medical Coders with strong inpatient and outpatient acute care coding experience for a remote contract opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Perform accurate inpatient, outpatient, and ED medical coding
- Review and assign ICD-10, CPT-4, and related codes
- Ensure compliance with payer, federal, and coding guidelines
- Research and resolve coding-related issues
- Utilize EPIC and 3M/HDS coding applications effectively
Required Qualifications
- CCS or CPC certification required
- Minimum 3 years of medical coding experience
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding
- Experience with EPIC and 3M/HDS systems
- Acute care hospital coding experience
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in both inpatient and outpatient coding
- ED coding experience
- RHIA, RHIT, CCP, or related credentials preferred
