• Conduct psychiatric evaluations in the field, often in conjunction with law enforcement, to assess the need for involuntary detention under 5150/5585 protocols.
• Maintain precise records of confidential patient information while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect client privacy.
• Engage in effective communication with law enforcement officers, Crisis Stabilization Units (CSUs), hospital staff, and psychiatrists to facilitate comprehensive care for individuals in crisis.
• Assist in training police personnel to handle mental health encounters with sensitivity and promote the de-escalation of potential confrontations.
• Provide short-term crisis counseling for individuals experiencing non-violent mental health episodes, guiding them through immediate challenges.
• Accompany law enforcement on mental health crisis responses, ensuring individuals receive timely and appropriate care.

This role uniquely focuses on assisting individuals in crisis, including arrestees who may be experiencing acute mental health episodes and community members seeking support. • A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required.
