Job description

Job Summary:  GRANT POSITION! The Supervisor-Social Work manages clinic flow and operations for the Resiliency Institute for Childhood Adversity (RICA). This position oversees the assessment of the whole person clinical and non-clinical needs of patients, coordination of care, provision of comprehensive services and case management, and consultation and advocacy as it relates to child abuse cases.  Oversees the policies and procedures for social workers, community health workers, community outreach coordinators, and student interns and will provide clinical supervision to all assigned staff.  The position will support the Child Protection Team (CPT) and the CPT Coordinator which provides support to hospital social workers and outside investigators, regarding cases with suspicion of child abuse. The supervisor will assist with grants as they relate to the RICA Pediatric Resiliency Clinic and assist with the vision and growth of the RICA team at LLU. Additionally, this position will offer back-up support to lead and facilitate monthly case reviews and multidisciplinary team meetings and provide appropriate training for collaborative partners. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience:  Master's Degree in Social Work or related field required. Three years of social work experience required. One year of supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:  Broad knowledge of quality, patient safety, performance improvement, regulatory requirements, medical staff structure, peer review and legal aspects of care. Knowledge of social worker practices, principles, and theories.  Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).  Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction.  Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.  Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.

Licensures and Certifications:  Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license, or a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology preferred*.

*Unlicensed individuals, including Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFTs), Associate Clinical Social Workers (ASWs), and Associate Professional Clinical Counselors (APCCs), who qualify for licensure may be appointed to this position provided they maintain active registration and remain in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

*Individuals may be hired without licensure must actively pursue licensure and obtain full California licensure within three (3) years of employment. An extension of up to two (2) additional years may be granted based on demonstrated progress toward licensure, compliance with all registration requirements, and documented extenuating circumstances. Employees are expected to obtain full California licensure within five (5) years of hire, including any approved extension periods.

*Additionally, employees must register for and take the applicable licensure examination(s) at the earliest available opportunity for which they are eligible and must demonstrate ongoing progress toward meeting all licensure requirements throughout their employment.
