Job description

Leidos is seeking a Senior Word Processor to work in support of the Civil Rights Division in Washington, DC. The Senior Word Processor needs to demonstrate extensive administrative assistant experience to support the Civil Rights Division Front Office. This is a very "high visibility " support role providing administrative support services. Please be aware that although this position currently supports remote work, it could change at the discretion of the customer. For this reason, only candidates in the DC Metro Area will be considered.

Typical Responsibilities Include:

  • Works under the supervision of a Project Manager.

  • Types, edits, corrects, etc. documents, charts, tables, etc. as required.

  • Performs data entry for human resource forms by entering into a portal.

  • Responsible for routine file maintenance, including maintaining backup copies of original files, as well as working files.

  • Works fairly independently; does not require constant, close supervision.

  • Monitors workload and progress, and performs quality control.

  • Generate, review, and reconcile HR reports related to staffing, payroll, and performance management; assist with data calls and quarterly audits.

  • Maintain electronic Official Personnel Folders (eOPFs) and HR shared drives; ensure compliance with recordkeeping and confidentiality requirements.

  • Track incoming/outgoing HR actions, schedule meetings, prepare correspondence, and maintain tracking logs for recruitments, awards, and performance plans.

  • Respond to employee and supervisor inquiries related to DOJ administrative HR matters, routing more complex inquiries to DOJ HR Specialists.


Basic Qualifications:

  • At least two years of word processing experience, including one year in the specific office automation environment required (e.g.MS Word Office).

  • Must be able to enter in human resources data into a portal with 100% accuracy.

  • High School diploma or GED required.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

  • Must be a US Citizenand able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs (i.e. Word, and Excel) preferred.

  • Hands on experience with data entry.

  • Prior Government experience

  • Current or active clearance

This position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum requirements. Leidos ensures that all provisions are satisfied. The pay for this position will be $21.29/hr.
