Job description

SUPERVISOR: Under the direct supervision of the Realty Director
LOCATION: Omaha Tribe Administration Building
SUMMARY: The Realty Wood Cutter responsibilities include wood cutting for approved households who are primarily wood heat or wood heat with propane and have an approved housing lease or current residential lease. The Coronavirus Pandemic created a shortage in services for fire wood for ceremonial and home use.
Realty Statement of Work:
  • Providing community members with pandemic related wood cutting needs for home wood burning in the cold months, for funerals and ceremonies. All wood cutting jobs are coordinated after completing the application for the winter heating program.

  • All documentation of work requested and completed with be maintained in the department of Realty for future evaluation and use.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Include the following, other duties may be assigned.
  • Verify all wood cutting requests are valid and ready for implementation.
  • Obtain a map of the area to be utilized for cutting from the Realty Director.
  • Pay attention to the type of wood to be used for which cutting Monitor wood piles to ensure proper use and no abuse of services takes place.
  • Trade the percentage of Job completed vs percentage of Job remaining.
  • Additional duty assigned is to perform snow removal duties as Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and proficiently with very little supervision and have motivation to perform the duties to completion.
  • Must be a self-starter with lots of initiative to get any job done who is ready to move on to the next job.
  • Must be able to attend required trainings and successfully complete all trainings then apply that information to the tasks required.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions if need.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Driver's license required and applicant must be insurable.
