Job description

JOB SUMMARY

  • The incumbent has to ensure the smooth working of the network setup in the Facility. He/ she plans, coordinates, and implements various IT/ IS requirements of the local facility in consultation with IT/IS advisors from overseas head office.

  • This position oversees and maintains SAP performance for operations and makes necessary changes to the setup in maintaining an efficient warehouse operations system

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In liaison with colleagues and users as appropriate, performs the following tasks:

  • Specifies information flows, processes and procedures, data objects and dialogues between information systems and their users;

  • Constructs or modifies, tests and corrects simple program modules from detailed specifications;

  • Interprets and executes defined test plans of limited scope; Installs fully tested software in target environments;

  • Troubleshoots basic hardware and software problems.

  • Other tasks and duties as directed.

  • Undertakes and documents all work in accordance with agreed standards and using prescribed methods and tools.

  • Conducts daily systems checks to ensure SAP performance and connection between SPICS/LIMS is optimal to ensure smooth running of operations.

  • Acts as a liaison with client's IT group on SPICS/LIMS issues and resolves them.

  • Acts as a liaison with CFT group on SPICS/LIMS issues and resolves them.

  • Conduct On-The-Job IT training for existing and/or new hire employees who have no prior knowledge/skill in performing a new task.

  • Handles testing in SAP Quality and testing environment on new implementations for RLC.

  • Receives, resolves and responds to client/customers' correspondence on systems issues.

  • Monitors and resolves PI/MQ logs for failures relating to Inbound & Outbound issues and item updates.

  • Handles, investigates and resolves the SPICS/LIMS discrepancies on the daily Availability runs.

  • Acts as first point of contact for Operations on any systems related issues and resolves them.

  • Maintains RF guns, printers, and PCs in the facility and ensure that Neovia standards are adhered to with respect to purchasing, setting up, etc. of the same.

  • Maintain and develop VBA access Databases for Operations whenever required.

  • Assist the Inbound & Outbound Team on their daily operational work whenever necessary.

  • Ensures information systems confidentiality by securing shared folders, advocating "Clear desk, clear screen policy", and adhering to IT/IS security standards as prescribed globally

  • Prepare Daily, weekly , monthly reports to Operation and RLC

  • Create/Support/Maintain Transport department's databases and SAP queries.

  • Support Global ITFS/Network team on Switches, routers access points, wireless controllers for failures and alarms.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • The position requires a Bachelor's degree in I.T., Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field; or equivalent education, business, or relevant experience (minimum three years); preferably, with proficiency in SAP

  • Experience in basic warehouse operations and systems is preferable but not required

  • Must be conversant with LAN/WAN, various hardware configurations of PC and commonly used software packages, network setups, etc.

  • Good written and spoken communication skills in English

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work is primarily sedentary. Sits comfortably to do the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, or lifting item weighing up to 15 pounds.
