We at DePuy Synthes Orthopaedics is recruiting for a Lead Analyst, Contract Management, to join its Contract Management team. This position is based out of Raritan, NJ; Warsaw, IN; Raynham, MA and West Chester, PA

Purpose:

Our Contract Management teams work with customer-facing teams to put together the most appropriate offering (products, pricing, solutions and T&Cs) for the customer while still supporting the objectives and strategies.

Position Overview:

The Lead Analyst, Contract Management will be for driving detailed implementation of contracts and pricing strategies throughout the contract continuum from developing paper through contract load and maintenance and providing effective and efficient contract review and negotiation for commercial contracts. The Lead Analyst will be the expert on handling RFP/RFI submissions, contract authoring, contract implementation, and contract maintenance. These responsibilities include coordinating the contract implementation workflow, identifying potential gaps, recommending solutions, and sharing guidelines. The Lead Analyst is also responsible for review and redlines of contract terms and conditions in close coordination with Legal, Offer Development, Finance, and the Field Sales Organization. This role works in close collaboration with the Field Sales Organization, Account Management, Contract Strategy, Offer Development, Finance, Marketing and other partners such as Legal, Health Care Compliance, Government Compliance, Privacy, Supply Chain, IT, etc. to ensure the most effective offering is made to the customer and that this offer can then be efficiently administered through the contracting system. Thus, the contract management space effectively must bring together people, process, system and policy to ensure the written word in the contract can be managed and administered throughout our contracting and order management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Account Management and Offer Development team members to proactively support and influence contracting needs for our top customer segment.

  • At the direction of management, direct and manage commercial contract terms and conditions negotiation.

  • Support and help prioritize and manage workload queue.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate terms and conditions in commercial contract documents, and participate in customer calls as necessary.

  • Work with the Manager and Senior Manager, Contact Management to facilitate internal contract approval and stakeholder negotiation to resolve complex issues and assist in disputes (e.g., escalating complex legal and factual issues to the appropriate internal parties, e.g., Supply Chain, Human Resources, Corporate Risk Management, Health Care Compliance, Privacy, Commercial Programs Legal Group (CPLG)).

  • Develop and maintain positive business partnering relationships with Legal, Offer Development, Health Care Compliance and Field Sales Organization.

  • Proactively support the design and implementation of systems, processes, and controls to track and manage the contracting process to enhance efficiency and compliance.

  • When assigned, facilitate effective communication and collaboration with internal partners, consistent with company mission and values, to ensure that actions taken reflect terms of contracts and agreements. Provide regular mentorship and training to Contract Management team members and to business partners to ensure they understand contractual requirements as well as the general legal and compliance environment.

  • Ensuring conformity to business needs, accurate risk allocation, and compliance with DePuy Synthes Orthopedics' policies and procedures.

  • Partner with Offer Development and Field to resolve any discrepancy or gaps in pricing approvals.

  • Implementation of price changes resulting from contract maintenance activity to include scheduled price increases stipulated in the contract and compliance price adjustments for noncompliant accounts.

  • Generate contract price files, integrated delivery network (IDN) roster maintenance on contracts, creation of member-add letters, and draft amendments.

  • Write and/or maintain assigned standard operating procedures and work instructions and help monitor adherence for related processes.

  • Provide timely response to internal and external audit requests.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • A minimum of a BS/BA is required. A degree in Business, Finance, or Sales & Marketing is preferred.

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Contracting & Pricing or related business experience within the medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or legal field.

  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills and ability to lead in a sophisticated, deadline driven environment is required.

  • Capable of drafting complex contract terms and conditions, attention to detail, reviewing contracts for conformity to policies, identifying and assessing risks, with the drive to understand the Orthopaedic products and offering, strategies, and business objectives is required.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, including track changes and document compare.

Preferred:

  • Experience with and a demonstrated ability to work within a matrix commercial organization, including field sales teams, contracting, and financial profitability is preferred.

  • Deep experience with the Orthopaedic Contracting systems and support tools is preferred.

  • Knowledge of the Orthopedics business, its products and strategies.

  • Ability to form strong, trust-based relationships with CPLG, Account Management, Franchises, Offer Development, and Contract Strategy.

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead, influence all levels of the organization, a willingness to take prudent risks, and indirectly manage cross functional teams.

  • Strong level of ownership and drive for meeting/exceeding expectations.

  • Excellent communication skills, including giving presentations to executive leadership, building and maintaining relationships at all levels in the organization.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone Orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$94,000.00 - $151,800.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
This position is eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive program.
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation -120 hours per calendar year
