Staff Specialist for Educational Resources - Model Schools

GENERAL STATEMENT
OF JOB:
Dutchess BOCES' Educational Resources Department is looking for a Staff Specialist to enhance our Team!  An Educational Resources Staff Specialist for Model Schools will facilitate professional development through workshops, consultancies, roundtables and in-district trainings as assigned throughout Dutchess County. S/he will work with other Staff Specialists to design, implement and evaluate a variety of professional learning opportunities with specific emphasis on technology integration. The candidate should hold a NYS teaching certification and have or will have their administrative certification. The successful candidate will develop and implement staff development activities focused on enabling K-12 teachers to utilize a variety of technologies, internet resources, and software within their instructional programs.

EMPLOYMENT:        
    Full-time, 12-month, tenure track assignment.

QUALIFICATIONS, 
EXPERIENCE AND 
COMPETENCIES:    
    Holds a current NYS Teaching Certificate,
    SAS/SDA/SBL/SDL certification preferred,  
    3+ years of teaching experience, K-12




KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
AND ABILITIES
DUTIES AND 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Provide modeling for and/or mentoring of teachers in curriculum planning and delivery that engages students in inquiry and critical thinking skills through the use of technology resources (hardware, software, wireless, media, internet, video conferencing, AI, educational platforms, etc.)
    Research, test, and recommend software and new technology applications for use in component districts and BOCES
    Support all aspects of the implementation of NY Inspires and other NYSED initiatives as a member of the Educational Resources Division. This includes an expectation that this individual will work collaboratively with other Staff Specialists to design, implement, and evaluate a variety of professional learning opportunities. Topics may include content standards, instructional practices, leadership, social-emotional learning, etc.
    Facilitate Curriculum, Assessment, & Instructional Technology (C.A.I.T.) Council meetings
    Plan and orchestrate a variety of BOCES sponsored student programs, including Model U.N., Debate, eSports, and Winners Circle
    Work closely with the Director of Learning Technology to contribute to and attend Instructional Technology Supervisors Advisory Council (ITSAC) meetings
    Plan and facilitate the Digital Defenders program with the Instructional Technology Department
    Collaborate with district leaders to design and implement technology integration plans
    Participation in local, regional, and/or state collaboratives
    Participate in continued professional learning
    Other duties as assigned
