Schedule: 3:30 pm – 12:00 am

Position Summary

Responsible for the daily communication of job assignments, including metal forming, welding, assembly, and finishing. This role will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day shop floor operations and reporting to the Production Department Supervisor.


Key Responsibilities

  • Communication of daily/weekly production scheduling between the management and the shop floor including sawing/cutting/shearing, bending and forming, welding and assembly operations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
  • Ensures associates follow safe working practices including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams and assembly drawings and communicate those effectively to associates.
  • Provides operational training as required.
  • Ability to manage shop floor changes in planning and scheduling in order to meet changing customer requirements.
  • Verifies raw materials and subcomponents against work orders to ensure availability for order fulfilment.
  • Evaluates product quality to ensure products meet or exceed internal and external requirements.
  • *Is a “driver” and maximizes the use of available resources.
  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 2 -5 years’ experience in a lead or supervisory position in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal fabrication and assembly.
  • In-depth knowledge of stainless steel, aluminum and steel welding, fabrication and finishing
  • Understanding of work orders and inventory management.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of computers and programs (Microsoft Office).
  • Perform ERP transactions (Experience with Epicor preferred)
  • Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Able to participate in a team-oriented environment, willingness to assist and train others
  • Demonstrates safe behavior and support department/plant safety goals in a continuous improvement process.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
  • Physical and Work Environment
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in an environment with temperature variations.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
