You are responsible for managing the wine stock and overseeing wine service to the customer. Wine marketing managers, on the other hand, work on the sales side of the industry. In this position, your responsibilities include introducing your employer’s product to a potential buyer and, sometimes, consulting on items such as label and bottle design.

They often organize wine tastings, maintain relationships with suppliers, and ensure proper storage and presentation of wine collections. Strong knowledge of wine varieties, tasting skills, and inventory management are essential for this role.

How does a wine manager typically collaborate with chefs and event staff to curate wine selections?

A Wine Manager works closely with chefs to design wine lists that complement the restaurant's cuisine and enhance the overall dining experience. They often participate in menu tastings to ensure the wine pairings are harmonious and may train the waitstaff on how to present and serve selected wines. For special events or private functions, the Wine Manager collaborates with event coordinators to create customized wine offerings, taking into account guest preferences and event themes. This teamwork ensures a cohesive and memorable experience for guests while supporting the restaurant's brand and profitability.
