Job description

The Force Protection Division is looking for a Software Developer - Windows Platform Integration supports the development, configuration, integration, and sustainment of Windows-based applications, services, interfaces, and supporting software components associated with the Rock Island Arsenal Increased Access OTA Prototype.
This position focuses on software integration, interface development, supporting data exchange infrastructure, Windows environment configuration, and operational support activities that enable interoperability between sensors, communications systems, security platforms, and Government infrastructure.
The Software Developer works under the direction of the Software & Platform Engineering Lead and supports implementation of the unified operational environment..
Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and configure Windows-based software components.
  • Support software integration activities across the prototype architecture.
  • Configure and maintain Windows application environments.
  • Support deployment and installation of software releases.
  • Develop and maintain application interfaces.
  • Support API integration activities.
  • Assist with data exchange and interoperability requirements.
  • Support integration of third-party technologies and platforms.
  • Diagnose software issues and support operational troubleshooting activities.
  • Resolve software integration issues.
  • Coordinate technical issues with engineering teams.
  • Support software testing activities, assist with integration testing, and validate software functionality.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant work experience or Master of Science (MS) with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Execution of Agile Development methodologies & practices
  • Windows Application Development with C# / .NET Framework
  • Windows Server Environments
  • Using REST API's and Web-based Development
  • Using SDKs to enable Systems Integrations
  • Developing and Maintaining Relational Databases
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity Best Practices
  • US citizenship and current Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications
  • Physical security or force protection systems experience.
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies and management
  • Knowledge of software optimization techniques
  • Experience writing software technical documentation
  • Experience supporting US Army or other Department of War (DoW) customers
  • Experience with Message Brokers (ex. Apache Kafka, Redis)
  • Cloud-based Development & Deployment experience (Infrastructure as Code)
  • Experience supporting client / vendor operational presentations
