Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wide Format Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining wide format printing equipment to produce high-quality prints and graphics. The Wide Format Operator will collaborate with our design and production teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Know and comply with all safety features and safety rules
  • Show and demonstrate a quality-conscious attitude
  • Demonstrated good housekeeping skills
  • Prepares files for printing
  • Operates and maintains large format printer to the fullest extent of output capabilities
  • Able to consistently output a product that meets or exceeds the required specifications.
  • Proactively work with maintenance, supervision and other wide format employees to ensure optimum machine maintenance and efficiency
  • Able to apply graphics printed to various substrates
  • Evaluate output and make adjustments to obtain a desired level of image quality
  • Troubleshoots problems that occur during job submission or the printing process
  • Able to understand and execute custom finishing requirements
  • Able to effectively operate a CNC cutter / router, Fotoba roller cutter, keen cut and Weldmaster powertools
  • Possess the skill to execute custom hand finishing techniques
  • Able to complete hardware installation and customer banner finishes
  • Ensures complete understanding of the job ticket specifications prior to starting a job
  • Able to perform job tasks to the required job ticket specifications
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Posses basic math skills
  • Able to read a ruler
  • Monitors and manages material usage to allocated quantities
  • Computer literate
  • Responsible for the accurate data collection of time, material usage and location movements in MIS system

Technical Skills
  • Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers and fractions and converting fractions to decimals and converting decimals to fractions)
  • Able to use basic hand tools and light power equipment
  • Advanced press troubleshooting ability
  • Basic MS Office skills

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Must have visual acuity necessary to read material composed on video display terminals.
  • Must have the ability to move from place to place within the building.
  • Must be able to complete repetitive motion of hands and arms to input/retrieve information from computer.
  • Must be able to bend/reach to get materials from floor, high and low shelves.
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs.

Education: Highschool Diploma or equivalent
Experience: 2 years' experience with large format digital print operations
