Job Title: Wide Format Operator

Classification: Full-Time, hourly / non-exempt 

Pay Range: $19.50 - $24.00+/hr, dependent on relevant experience

Reports to: Angelique Racicot, Wide Format Manager

Schedule: *Swing Shift* 2pm- 10:30pm, Monday - Friday

Location: In-Office (no remote), 5000 N Basin Ave., Portland, OR 97217

General Summary

As a Wide Format Operator, you'll be responsible for the majority of production: printing, cutting, and finishing. This role loads & unloads materials, operates presses including roll-fed and flatbed printers, maintains product and packaging consistency, assembles graphics and hardware. Works in a non-sedentary, fast-paced environment with constant demands. This opportunity is not limited to highly experienced operators - it can be a great opportunity for on the job training provided you have a willingness to learn and exceptional work ethic. 



Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze all aspects of each job based on information from the job ticket; develop plan to execute job, ensure job ticket      instructions and specific process work instructions are completed correctly. Take corrective action as necessary.
  • Set up, operate, clean up and perform routine maintenance on a variety of printing and finishing equipment.
  • Communicate job requirements to appropriate personnel at start and/or end of shift.
  • Troubleshoot machine problems on a routine basis.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in work areas.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for self and other employees when operating equipment and/or performing job functions.
  • Reduces waste and printing spoils.
  • Ensures products are printed and manufactured to meet/exceed printing industry standards.
  • Advises customer service and estimating teams on job requirements, inventory and supply levels.

Qualifications:

  • Must be dependable and have a solid work ethic
  • Knowledge of large format materials or a willingness to learn
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Read and understand job tickets and all other job-related paperwork
  • Good decision-making skills and ability to assume responsibility for the work produced

Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent


Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes and/or airborne particles, loud noises, and vibration.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
