General Production Associate

Portland Pet Food Company is now accepting applications for General Production Associates at our SE wholesale production facility in Portland, Oregon. Please submit a resume to apply.

Our team works closely with our bakers & shipping departments to ensure we are packaging a high-quality product that will be loved by dogs everywhere.  We need a dedicated fulfillment associate who is extremely reliable and precise. We are a team-oriented business and are growing rapidly.  This is a fast-paced environment and requires self-motived individuals who thrive in a challenging position while working independently and with a small team.

Job Description: This position supports the entire PPFC Operations Department by primarily packaging and casing our meals & treats.  To ensure overall success, the production associates will occasionally assist bakery staff.  Training will be provided for all tasks assigned and equipment used.

Rate of Pay: $19 per hour

Benefits include Health/Dental, Vision and Life Insurance, 8 Paid Holidays, Paid Time Off provided after training period, Employee Assistance Program, Employee Referral Program, and Educational Assistance Program offered.

Schedule:  40 hours weekly – Monday to Friday – 5:00am – 1:30pm

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participate in warehouse tasks including order fulfillment, pallet building, receiving, inventory tracking, accurate labeling, and operation of basic warehouse equipment.
  • Participate in packaging tasks including bagging, casing, inventory tracking, and accurate labeling.
  • Follow food safety & sanitation standards
  • Meet production goals with attention to detail and adherence to project time requirements
  • ·Verify the accuracy of projects and completion of paperwork 


Experience & Attributes:


Education & Training

  • Multnomah County Food Handler’s certificate required within 30 days of hire


Professional Experience

  • Warehouse equipment: pallet jack, case sealer, printers
  • Understanding of food manufacturing, food safety, lot coding, and FIFO inventory
