The Production Manager reports directly to the SpeedPro SW Portland studio owner and is primarily responsible for producing various wide-format specialty printed products. This position plays a critical role in the franchise's profit and margin potential through outstanding performance in fast turn-around times, high-quality product output, and efficiency with materials to minimize waste.
The Role: What You'll Be Doing
As our PM, you are the primary driver of our manufacturing output, transforming creative concepts into high-quality printed graphics like murals, banners, window graphics, and vehicle/fleet wraps. Your time will be focused on:
Print Production & Equipment Maintenance:
You will take full ownership of the printing and production process, operating and maintaining large-format printers, laminators, and plotters to ensure optimal performance. You'll also manage inventory and perform quality assurance to turn satisfied clients into thrilled clients.
Pre-Press & File Management:
You'll review customer files for print readiness, create digital proofs, and optimize files specifically for large-format and vehicle graphics to reduce waste.
Project Operations:
Using CoreBridge software, you'll track job progress and collaborate with the sales team or studio owner on project requirements prior to production.
Fulfillment & Installation:
You'll handle the final stages, including packing, labeling, shipping, and performing light graphic installations or site measurements as necessary.
Other Duties as Assigned:
Flexibility to assist as needed in a fast-paced environment.
Who You Are
We are looking for a self-motivated professional who takes personal pride and responsibility for their work. To be successful, you should demonstrate:
Technical Expertise: 1-3 years of experience (2+ years ideally) with large-format production equipment and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
Excellence & Timeliness: A commitment to "on time, every time" delivery and a high degree of accuracy to minimize reprints.
Self-Management: The ability to minimize personal distractions and independently prioritize a heavy workload with minimal oversight, especially when navigating competing deadlines.
Interpersonal Strength: A "get-it-done" attitude and a willingness to engage in two-way feedback to improve studio processes.
Ideal candidates will also possess:
  • 2+ years of designing/working with vehicle graphics and templates
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in graphic design (or similar program, or an equivalent amount of experience)

Physical & Special Requirements
This is a hands-on role in a printing production environment. Candidates must be able to:
Stand for extended periods on a concrete floor.
Repeatedly lift media rolls weighing approximately 50 lbs.
Climb ladders and perform on-site installations.
Possess a valid driver's license for occasional travel for site surveys.
