Regional Operations Manager
Territory: Southern, Central, and Northern Virginia
Reports To: Area Vice President
Base Salary: $105,000–$125,000 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus program
Position Summary
The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing the operational, financial, and service performance of multiple commercial tire and fleet service locations throughout Southern, Central, and Northern Virginia. This role serves as a key partner to the Area Vice President in executing strategic initiatives, driving profitable growth, improving operational efficiency, and developing high-performing teams.
The Regional Operations Manager provides leadership across service operations, fleet customer support, safety, technician development, inventory management, and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will have demonstrated success leading multi-site operations in a commercial tire, fleet maintenance, transportation, logistics, or related service environment.
Previous commercial tire industry experience is strongly preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
  • Provide leadership and oversight for multiple commercial tire service locations throughout the assigned region.
  • Ensure consistent execution of operational standards, service quality expectations, and safety requirements.
  • Drive performance improvements related to productivity, efficiency, response times, and customer service.
  • Conduct regular branch visits to evaluate operational effectiveness, employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and compliance.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, urgency, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Commercial Business Growth
  • Partner with sales and operational leadership to support growth and retention of commercial fleet accounts.
  • Ensure locations consistently deliver exceptional service to transportation, logistics, municipal, construction, industrial, and fleet customers.
  • Support strategic initiatives designed to increase customer retention, account profitability, and market share.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to ensure operational readiness and successful onboarding of new accounts.
  • Identify market opportunities and competitive trends to support regional growth objectives.
Financial Management
  • Manage regional financial performance, including revenue growth, profitability, labor costs, inventory control, and operating expenses.
  • Analyze business metrics and operational KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement action plans to address performance gaps.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of personnel, equipment, service vehicles, and inventory assets.
  • Support capital planning and investment decisions within the region.
Service Operations Excellence
  • Ensure effective execution of commercial tire service programs, roadside service, emergency response support, and fleet maintenance operations.
  • Monitor technician productivity, service quality, responsiveness, and operational efficiency.
  • Improve service delivery processes to maximize uptime for customer fleets.
  • Ensure locations maintain appropriate inventory levels to support customer requirements and operational demands.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer value and operational performance.
Talent Development & Leadership
  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing Branch Managers, Service Managers, and operational leaders.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance management, and leadership development.
  • Establish succession plans and develop future leaders within the organization.
  • Promote employee engagement and foster a culture focused on growth, accountability, and service excellence.
  • Partner with Human Resources on talent acquisition, employee relations, training, and workforce planning.
Customer Relationship Management
  • Maintain strong relationships with key commercial customers and strategic accounts.
  • Participate in customer meetings and business reviews as needed.
  • Address escalated service concerns and implement corrective action plans.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through consistent operational execution and service reliability.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
  • Champion a safety-first culture throughout the region.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Monitor adherence to OSHA, DOT, environmental, and safety requirements.
  • Conduct operational audits and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure branch teams maintain safe facilities, vehicles, and work practices.
Strategic Leadership
  • Partner with the Area Vice President to execute regional strategies and business objectives.
  • Support acquisitions, market expansion initiatives, branch start-ups, and integration efforts.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives and drive adoption of operational best practices.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Human Resources, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to achieve business goals.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Three (3) or more years of progressive operations leadership experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years managing multiple locations, branches, or service operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout Southern, Central, and Northern Virginia.
Preferred
  • Commercial tire industry experience.
  • Experience managing commercial tire service operations, fleet service operations, transportation support services, or related field service organizations.
  • Knowledge of fleet maintenance operations, service dispatch, route management, and commercial customer support.
  • Experience leading large field service teams and mobile service operations.
  • Proven track record of growing revenue while improving operational efficiency and customer retention.
