Job description

Position Summary: The Program Manager will lead and execute the planning, scheduling, and budgeting to ensure projects and programs are completed on-time (Schedule) and within budget (Cost). This role will collaborate closely with Customer’s as well as internal cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain, etc. and will also guide and mentor the Program Management Team to provide expertise in developing both strategic planning and project execution.

This role will plan and identify project resources, prepare budgets utilizing accepted quotes, prepare cashflow forecasts, actively monitor progress, and keep stakeholders and leadership informed through Weekly/Monthly Reviews. The successful applicant will create and maintain overall schedules, progress to budgets, ETC’s (Estimation To Completion), progress reports (KPI’s), submittal logs, RFI logs, meeting minutes, etc.

This role is located onsite at the Saxonburg, PA location.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead programs/projects by assisting with initial quoting, develop execution plans (PO to final invoice and deliverable).
  • Consult with Proposal and Quoting Team to develop wholistic Cost, Schedule, and Workflow estimates with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain.
  • Create Statements of Work (SOW). Review Customer contracts (RFI/RFQ/RFP) to ensure proposed terms and conditions are applicable to the proposed SOW.
  • Coordinate execution with Field Installation crews and/or subcontractors, as applicable.
  • Process Change Orders (CO/s/). Manage, maintain, and submit Contracted documentation, status, and reports through program close out.
  • Coordinate Make/Buy evaluations with Gaven Leadership, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain for considering outsourcing Engineering/Drafting packages to outsourcing component build-up which provide assurance in maintaining Gaven Cost and Schedule.
  • Provide program leadership during design reviews.
  • Develop, redline, and adapt program management workflows, processes, and procedures.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical information clearly.
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to document artifacts clearly.
  • Extensive execution experience in Program Management, Project Management, Budgeting, Estimating, Change Management, Planning, and Production Sequencing.
  • Knowledge and experience with Government Contracts.
  • A PMP Certificate is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and Power Point.
  • A key characteristic of this role is to have the flexibility to adapt, adjust, effectively communicate, and work and lead a Team to find solutions and drive execution.
  • The ability to be self-motivated and strive to be pro-active and in-front of your Customer’s needs and requirements, before these changes are formally communicated.
  • Ability to multitask (management of multiple projects).
  • Ability to travel (1-2 times/month), or as required by the Company or Customer’s in support of new and existing programs/projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience in troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring program/project managers.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Current DoD Security Clearance or ability to obtain one.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Five (5) years or more as a Project/Program Manager, with a strong track record of successful program execution.
  • Experience leading programs/projects and successfully working in a cross-functional environment.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Supervise and mentor program/project managers.
