This position serves as one of Wellbridge’s medical Providers, with focus on psychiatric consultation, and works closely with interdisciplinary group of physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants responsible for the day-to-day operation throughout our campus to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, consultation, and treatment of all Wellbridge patients
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to oversee the development of personalized treatment plans for each individual Wellbridge patient
  • Receptive to and a driver of innovation through implementation of approaches, capitalizing on technology, integration of research and educating all staff
  • Maintain understanding of current treatments, knowledge, and practices in addiction care
  • Support strategic efforts to identify opportunities for translational medicine and innovation
  • Collaborate with Wellbridge research team to develop a measurement-based care system to guide program improvement
  • Hire, manage employee development and performance management of assigned staff
  • Participate in routine clinical team meetings
  • Work closely with the advocacy, residential, and legal teams to coordinate services to patients
  • Responds in a timely fashion to staff concerns
  • Meet with the program leadership team to review issues affecting patient care, patient satisfaction, and general operations and performance
  • Assist with community presentations, as applicable
  • Manage and promote relationship with academic and research institutions to promote addiction research and training for nurses and nurse practitioners
  • Maintain a safe and caring environment, delivering care in a culturally sensitive manner and consistent with Wellbridge mission, vision, and values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Ability to assess medical needs and provide patient care. For patient care needs, this is an on-site role. Consistently move self about patient care areas. Occasionally lift and move medical equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Ability to verbally communicate related to patient care. Consistent computer and phone, general office equipment use. Update medical records while in a stationary position up to 30% of the time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree from an accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse Practitioner in New York State required . National certification in nurse practitioner specialty (ANCC, AACP or NAPNAP) preferred.
  • BLS, required. ACLS or other certification, as required by department . Certifications must be obtained within one (1) month of employment.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of clinical risk
  • Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical experience providing treatment for addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders in an inpatient or residential environment.
