Job description

Corps Assistant

The Corps Assistant is responsible for providing overall support to the Perth Amboy Corps. This includes, but is not limited to, programmatic and administrative support.

Responsibilities
  • Welcome and assist community members and clients with scheduling appointments.
  • Assist Corps Officers in tracking, filing, and processing documents related to programs, grants, and general operational needs.
  • Assist with monitoring and impact tracking of Salvation Army – Perth Amboy social media accounts.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timely submission of statistical records and reports in applicable databases.
  • Under the direction of Corps Officers, schedule and coordinate with contractors, vendors, and maintenance companies.
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of internal and external meetings, as requested by Corps Officers; attend staff and other community meetings where necessary.
  • Process and code invoices, ensuring accurate and departmental expense tracking.
  • Assist with administrative needs for seasonal initiatives such as Red Kettle Campaign, Angel Tree, Thanksgiving & Christmas assistance, and backpack distributions.
  • Other duties within the scope of the role as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail skills.
  • Awareness and sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of populations served.
