Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Membership, the Welcome Center Representative serves as the first point of connection for members and guests. You will create a welcoming, supportive environment by greeting members, assisting with membership and program needs, and ensuring every interaction reflects the Y's values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to engage people with warmth and professionalism. The right candidate will thrive in a team environment, exercise good judgment, maintain confidentiality, and adapt with flexibility. Proficiency with computers and a commitment to inclusivity are essential.
Qualifications:
  • Current Red Cross First Aid and Adult CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Ability to build authentic, positive relationships with people of all backgrounds
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and compliance with the Americans with Disabiities Act (ADA)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain active throughout a shift
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; outgoing, welcoming personality
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work scheduled shifts in all weather conditions

  • Create a welcoming environment by greeting members by name, making eye contact, and engaging in friendly conversation.

  • Provide accurate information about membership, programs, and services.
  • Support program and membership registration with attention to accuracy and efficiency.
  • Connect members to opportunities for Achievement (personal goals), Relationships (friends and groups), and Belonging (community and cause).
  • Respond promptly and courteously to inquiries and concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
