Join our team as a Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems.
  • Documenting and calculating results accurately.
  • Taking corrective action when necessary, such as alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, and reporting results to management.
  • Handling additional assignments as requested.

At Tyson Foods, safety is paramount. This includes both personal safety and food safety.

Shift: 3rdShift

Schedule:Monday - Friday, Saturday & Sundays as needed to support operations.

Hours:10:00 PM to 6:30 AM (flex as needed). Must be able and willing to work weekends and overtime.

Pay: $29.05/hour. This position is eligible for overtime pay and is paid weekly.

Working Conditions:

  • Environment: Normal for a food manufacturing setting.
  • Physical Requirements: Involves lifting materials and products up to 75 pounds.
  • Safety Equipment: Use of steel-toed work boots, hardhats, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), and smocks is required.
  • Restrictions: Cell phones and jewelry are not permitted on the factory floor.

Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in the food manufacturing industry OR related Quality Assurance type experience.

Communication Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Special Skills:

  • Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork.
  • Ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce.
  • Good problem identification and problem-solving skills.
  • Math and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret product specifications.
  • Must function well under stress.
  • Must have flexibility to work where and when needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Position involves heavy lifting (75 lbs. or more).
  • Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day
  • Must work in cold/hot temperatures
  • Must be able to work in wet environment
  • Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pulling
  • Must be able to reach high and low levels, frequently
  • Ability to climb step ladders and or stairs
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends
  • Position will require Lock Out Tag Out certification
