Industrial Welder - Cooling Tower Services - Base Salary to 36.00/hour - Mountainside, NJ

  • Our client, a commercial and industrial HVAC services organization specializing in cooling tower maintenance, repair, refurbishment, and installation, is seeking an Industrial Welder to support field operations throughout the New Jersey and New York City markets. This role is responsible for structural welding, field fabrication, cooling tower repair work, and mechanical support activities on commercial and industrial cooling tower systems.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience performing MIG, TIG, and stick welding in industrial or commercial environments, along with hands-on experience supporting field repairs, structural steel work, and industrial mechanical systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding on structural steel, piping, supports, and cooling tower components
  • Repair and replace cooling tower frameworks, basins, supports, fan sections, and related mechanical systems
  • Inspect cooling towers and structural components for corrosion, deterioration, and mechanical wear
  • Fabricate replacement parts and structural assemblies for field installation and repair
  • Support cooling tower installation, refurbishment, maintenance, and repair projects
  • Work with stainless steel, galvanized steel, fiberglass, and other industrial materials
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Operate welding equipment, torches, grinders, lifts, and hand and power tools
  • Assist with rigging, material handling, and field construction activities as needed
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA standards and company safety procedures
  • Coordinate with field crews, project managers, and technicians on active job sites
  • Maintain documentation related to repairs, fabrication work, and materials used

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of welding experience in commercial or industrial environments
  • Experience performing MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding
  • Experience with structural steel repair, field fabrication, and industrial mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Experience working in industrial maintenance, field service, construction, HVAC, cooling towers, or similar environments
  • Familiarity with rigging, material handling, and industrial repair work
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
  • Valid driver's license with ability to travel to customer and project sites throughout New Jersey and New York City service areas
  • Ability to safely perform work within active commercial and industrial environments
  • Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions as required by project needs
  • Ability to work at elevated heights and access industrial structures while utilizing appropriate safety equipment
  • Ability to handle tools, materials, and equipment in accordance with job responsibilities and safety requirements
