Registered Nurse - Telemetry Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts from 07:00 AM to 07:30 PM, every other weekend and holidays as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Telemetry unit specializing in inpatient care for patients with multiple co-morbidities, including stroke (neuro) patient population. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, supporting a nurse to patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor patients remotely and on the unit, interpreting cardiac telemetry data.
  • Administer blood products, central lines, and peripheral IVs.
  • Perform feeding tube care and management.
  • Conduct wound care and isolation precautions as needed.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Manage care for patients experiencing cerebrovascular accidents (CVAs).
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a Telemetry or similar setting.
  • BLS and NIHSS certifications are required.
  • Proficiency with the EPIC charting system is necessary.
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring, including remote and unit-based monitoring.
  • Understanding of EKGs and the ability to pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance.
  • Candidates must possess a valid RN license in the state of practice.
