Surgical Technologist - Acute Care Facility
This is a 13-week contract position.
Day shift, 4x10-hour schedule (07:00 - 17:00). Weekend coverage as per needs of the unit. Potential for floating to other units.
The Surgical Technologist will provide assistance to surgical teams, ensuring optimal patient care and maintaining a sterile environment during surgical procedures. The role requires previous experience in an acute care setting with a focus on orthopedics, neuro, vascular, and trauma surgery.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons and other medical personnel during surgeries
- Maintain sterile environment and follow prescribed safety protocols
- Monitor patient conditions before, during, and after procedures
- Assist in handling and processing surgical specimens
- Perform additional duties as assigned by surgical team leadership
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Minimum of 3 years of surgical technologist experience; 5 years preferred
- Active BLS certification
- Certification from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred
- California state license preferred; pending license accepted
- Trauma Level I experience required
