Art Teacher - Digital Art - Part time Evenings and Weekends
One River School of Art + Design โ€” Middletown, NJ

What youโ€™ll do:
  1. Teach Digital Design Classes and Studio Art Classes: Teach weekly art and / or digital art classes from 4pm to 5:15pm on Mondays and Wednesdays and from 5:30pm to 7pm on Thursdays and be available to sub classes on the weekend as needed.

  2. Ensure Student Success: Ensure student success in the studio and lab by actively engaging with students and teachers to observe, document and communicate their progress and opportunities for growth

  3. Provide Hospitality Service & Communication: Conduct proactive check-ins with parents, students and families, support makeup scheduling, discuss student progress and opportunities for growth, upsells to additional classes / camps.

  4. Implement One River Methodology Curriculum: Review lesson plans/resources on time and implement the One River Method through each class effectively and contribute to lesson plan development regularly

  5. Run a best-in-class studio: Maintain the digital lab, Clean and organize studio spaces and student artwork and oversee digital lab maintenance

Requirements:
  • BA/BS in Visual Art, Art Education or Design (Masterโ€™s a plus) or equivalent professional experience

  • 3+ years experience teaching visual arts for Kโ€“12 and/or adults. Digital art skills in the Adobe Suite and Procreate

  • Track record of high-quality instruction, classroom management, and student progress.

  • Clear communicator, organized, and energized by a busy studio environment

  • Passion for art history, contemporary art and a โ€œstudents-firstโ€ mindset

Schedule & Compensation:
  • This is a Part time position with afternoon, evening and weekend teaching hours

  • Pay rate is between $25 and $35 per hour depending on experience
