Job description

ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for part-time instructors for Remedial Studies in the Adult Education department. Part-time instructors are hired on an as-needed basis. Your application will be placed in a pool for review as part-time teaching assignments become available.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Part-time/adjunct faculty in Remedial Studies are responsible for teaching the objectives of each course assigned, the assessment of student learning, and reporting of student progress as required by the college.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree in Education.
2. Content area knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, or Math is required.
3. Teaching experience, preferably in an adult learning context is required.
4. Demonstrated willingness and ability to integrate appropriate technology into teaching strategies
5. Experience in Adult Education preferred.
6. Preference given to candidates with demonstrated experience effectively working with disadvantaged populations.
PAY AND HOURS
Salary varies based on educational level and number of units taught.

WORK LOCATION
Remedial Studies courses are offered at SWIC Belleville and Sam Wolf Granite City Campuses, and other off-site locations.
