Job description

The Assistant Teacher will work in an early childhood classroom at the University Child Development Center with children ranging in age from six weeks through five years of age. The position involves a collaborative effort in supporting the functions of the classroom under the supervision of a Head Teacher and an Associate Teacher. The Assistant Teacher is responsible for supporting daily activities and programming in the classroom, interaction with and supervising a group of children and maintaining daily communication with families.

Some supervision of University students is required. Assistant Teachers are required to maintain 12 hours of professional development annually during their employment and maintain all DHS, NAEYC, Keystone STARS requirements. They are also required to attend all five professional development days at UCDC annually.
