Job description

Clean Harbors Aragonite, UT is seeking a Facility Incineration Health and Safety Supervisor to support our incineration operations and ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. This position carries an operational title but is focused primarily on leading and managing safety protocols in a heavy industrial environment. The ideal candidate will bring seasoned safety expertise, strong leadership, and the flexibility to work across all shifts and operational needs.

This role reports directly to the Facility Manager, with mentorship from senior H&S leaders, and serves as a critical safety lead for the site. This role is designed to grow into a senior H&S leadership position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead safety efforts for incineration operations, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and internal protocols
  • Act as primary contact for health and safety concerns across all shifts
  • Investigate incidents and lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning
  • Conduct internal safety audits and implement continuous improvement plans
  • Monitor and report safety performance metrics and trends
  • Support emergency response planning and participate in drills
  • Oversee adherence to hazardous materials handling, confined space entry, and PPE standards
  • Train, coach, and guide employees on safety best practices
  • Support site operations by working closely with operations leadership during turnarounds, shutdowns, and emergencies
  • Maintain open availability for rotating shifts, call-outs, and weekend support
  • Schedule and Environment:
  • Standard office hours: 7 AM-4 PM Monday-Friday
  • Must be available for day/night shifts, weekend call-outs, and emergency response
  • Industrial environment: must be comfortable working in confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and elevated noise conditions

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of health and safety experience in a heavy industrial setting (required)

  • OSHA 500 certification or ability to obtain (strongly preferred)

  • HAZWOPER 40-hour certification and refresher required

  • Associate's degree minimum; Bachelor's degree preferred in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field

    • 10+ years of relevant experience may substitute for degree
  • Working knowledge of WSDS/MSDS, hazardous waste policies, and regulatory requirements

  • Strong conflict resolution, coaching, and team leadership skills

  • Computer savvy; able to document and report effectively

  • Valid U.S. driver's license

  • Able to lift 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform physical safety walkthroughs
