Job description

TITLE: Shipping Loader A

POSITION OBJECTIVE: To ensure quality customer service through the efficient operation of the warehouse/shipping and receiving department.

 

SQF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Responsible for adhering to Safe Quality Food by ensuring food safety for the packaging products.
  • Supports the SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing of Food Packaging.
  • Ensure GMP is exerted throughout the production process.
  • Ensure production process follows the SQF Code.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Load and unload delivery vehicles include operating fork trucks, lifting and carrying merchandise and stocking in appropriate areas throughout the warehouse.
  • Operate fork truck to unload pallets and heavier materials.
  • Verify quantities of deliveries and merchandise serial numbers by comparing merchandise to packing slips.
  • Visually inspect deliveries for damage and notify management of discrepancies.
  • Always maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork for deliveries and submit to management each day.
  • Complete appropriate material from storage in accordance with picking ticket.
  • Prepare shipments to include obtaining appropriate shipping information and completing appropriate paperwork.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 Years of manufacturing environment experience preferred
  • Previous shipping experience required
  • Basic math skills and some mechanical abilities.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with all levels of personnel
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary such as overtime and weekends.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions
