Facilities And Sanitation Worker (Entry-Level)

Location: Vernon, CA (5925 S Alcoa Ave, Vernon, CA 90058) Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 PM – 4:30 AM (40 hours/week) Contract Duration: Approximately 2,128 total hours Travel: No travel required

Our client, a leading company in the meat and seafood processing industry, is seeking facilities and sanitation workers to join their team in Vernon, CA. This entry-level role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant production environment in accordance with USDA and SQF food safety standards. Candidates will perform physical cleaning tasks, support environmental monitoring, and help ensure the facility meets all regulatory hygiene requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize production areas, equipment, and floors using high-pressure hoses and approved chemicals
  • Maintain compliance with USDA and SQF food safety standards
  • Support environmental monitoring initiatives
  • Manage waste collection and disposal procedures
  • Complete sanitation documentation and checklists accurately
  • Operate industrial cleaning equipment safely
  • Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks as required
  • Assist with grounds maintenance and basic landscaping duties
Required Qualifications
  • Ability to work overnight shift hours consistently
  • Willingness to work in a cold, wet, and physically demanding environment
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and operate cleaning equipment
  • Strong attention to detail for accurate documentation
  • Basic understanding of following safety protocols
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in food processing, sanitation, or industrial cleaning
  • Familiarity with USDA and SQF food safety standards
  • Experience with environmental monitoring procedures

About the role: This position offers an entry point into the food manufacturing and sanitation industry with hands-on training. Interviews will be conducted during normal working shift hours. Competitive rate offered. This is a full-time, contract position based entirely on-site with no remote or travel components.
