Position Summary
The Overnight Food Manufacturing Sanitation Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and SQF-compliant bakery production environment at Too Sweet Cakes. This role requires demonstrated sanitation experience in a food manufacturing or food production setting-not simply general warehouse or janitorial work. The position focuses on thorough cleaning and sanitation of production equipment, floors, walls, facility areas, and the washing and sanitizing of dishes, utensils, and small tools used in production. This role plays a critical part in food safety, audit readiness, and daily operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

  • Clean, scrub, and sanitize floors, walls, drains, and work surfaces throughout the bakery production facility.
  • Sanitize production equipment, racks, carts, tables, and bakery fixtures in accordance with Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
  • Perform routine and deep-cleaning tasks to maintain SQF and GMP compliance in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Safely operate cleaning tools and equipment including floor scrubbers, hoses, power washers, and approved sanitation chemicals.
  • Maintain cleanliness in storage areas, docks, refrigeration units, and employee common areas as assigned.
  • Identify and report sanitation, maintenance, or food safety concerns promptly.

Dishwashing & Tool Sanitation
  • Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, trays, pans, and small equipment used in food production.
  • Operate commercial dishwashing equipment and manual wash stations in compliance with food safety standards.
  • Inspect cleaned items for cleanliness and proper sanitization before returning them to storage or production.
  • Keep dishwashing and sanitation areas clean, organized, and properly stocked with supplies.

Documentation & Compliance
  • Complete sanitation logs, checklists, and documentation accurately and on time.
  • Follow all SQF, GMP, OSHA, and company food safety policies.
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining audit-ready conditions at all times.

Working Conditions
  • Active food manufacturing and bakery production environment with exposure to water, cleaning chemicals, and temperature variation.
  • Required use of PPE, including gloves and non-slip footwear.
  • Fast-paced environment requiring consistent cleanliness, precision, and focus on food safety protocols.

Requirements
Required
  • Prior sanitation experience in a food manufacturing, food production, or bakery environment-this is a mandatory requirement, not a preference.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of or ability to follow SSOPs, GMPs, and food safety sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal sanitation procedures and safety instructions.
  • Comfortable performing physically demanding work including standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work a full-time overnight schedule with weekend availability.
  • Reliable attendance and strong attention to detail.

Preferred
  • Experience in SQF-certified or audit-regulated food production facilities.
  • Familiarity with SQF, GMPs, or structured food safety programs.
  • Food Handler's Card or ability to obtain one prior to start date.

Benefits
  • Stable, full-time overnight position in a growing bakery operation.
  • Eligibility for benefits on the 1st of the month following 60 days of full-time employment.
  • Opportunity to contribute directly to food safety and product quality.
  • Team-oriented environment with training and growth opportunities.
