Job description

Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla has served the greater San Diego community since 1924. For more than a century, we continue to provide distinguished care, including several nationally ranked specialty programs. Scripps La Jolla was the first in San Diego to be designated a Magnet Hospital by the American Nursing Association.

Scripps La Jolla shares a campus with the Barbey Family Emergency and Trauma Center, a Level I Trauma Center, and the renowned Prebys Cardiovascular Institute. We’re also home to notable specialty programs, including cancer care, heart surgery, orthopedic surgery, labor and delivery services (including a Level III neonatal intensive care unit) and a nationally designated Comprehensive Stroke Center.

This is a Casual Status also known as Per Diem position as a RN in the PreOp-PACU department in our brand new tower at La Jolla Memorial hospital. It has a varied 12 hour shift with the start time between 0830-1100. There is not call or weekend shifts, however it is available if you are seeking additional shifts. The training schedule is flexible and based on experience. The minimum availability is 4 shifts per month.

Responsibilities include: Provide direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice. Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. The RN takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision. Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care

Required

  • Minimum 1 year RN experience
  • Current CA RN License
  • Current BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
  • Strongly preferred - PreOp -PACU RN experience 
  • ICU or Emergency department RN experience
  • Flexibility with work environments within the department

Position Pay Range: $59.16-$85.68/hour
