We are currently seeking an experienced Remote Product Owner, Senior to join our cross-functional Agile team leading product strategy and delivery for the Acquisition Management System (AMS) tool suite. Our team operates in a Kanban-based Agile environment with a focus on continuous delivery, rapid feedback loops and high-availability deployments. The ideal candidate will have a proactive mindset, strong critical thinking skills and the ability to independently develop solutions to complex and evolving problems. This position may allow for remote work; however, employees must be able and willing to travel and provide in-office or on-site support as required by customer requirements, project demands, or business needs.
Duties:
  • Own and manage the product backlog for a suite of integrated acquisition web tools supporting customers across the Department of Defense
  • Capture and translate requirements into clearly defined epics, features, and user stories
  • Maintain a clear product roadmap, balancing short-term deliverables with the overall long-term strategic vision
  • Lead and facilitate backlog refinement, prioritization, planning and delivery tracking
  • Work side-by-side with developers, UI/UX, technical leads and QA teams to ensure production-ready releases are verified, logged and validated
  • Serve as the primary intermediary between the stakeholders and the development team throughout a project's life cycle, from concept to production
  • Engage directly with stakeholders and end users to gather feedback and ensure solutions meet mission requirements
  • Lead product demonstrations to ensure stakeholder alignment on feature delivery and priority
  • Proactively identify problems, risks and opportunities across the tool suite
  • Drive a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and mission focus

Required Qualifications:
  • At least four (4) years of overall experience in project management support. At least two (2) years of this experience must be in writing software requirements which includes at least one (1) year
    of experience in an agile software development environment leveraging SharePoint 2013 and Dot.Net as well as one (1) year of experience in Team Foundation Server (TFS). (Note: All experience may be concurrent).

Required Education:
  • BA/BS degree.

ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION:
A) An AS or AA degree and seven (7) years of overall experience plus the amount of detailed experience that
matches the experience/training requirement for this position may be substituted for a BS or BA degree; or
B) Nine (9) years of overall experience plus the amount of detailed experience that matches the
experience/training requirement for this position may be substituted for a BS or BA degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, or related role
  • Proven experience delivering complex web applications or enterprise-level software systems
  • Deep understanding of Agile delivery frameworks and Kanban methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to independently drive outcomes with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - capable of interacting with both technical teams and government stakeholders
  • Proficiency with backlog management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, etc.)
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices
  • Product Owner certifications (CSPO, PSPO, SAFe PO/PM, etc.)
  • Knowledge of federal acquisition processes to include procurement planning, spend plan management, and/or contract data requirement lists
    Professional certifications (MCSD, etc) desired.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems' total compensation package.
