What are the typical duties of a weekend receptionist?

A weekend receptionist is responsible for greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and managing front desk operations during weekends. They may also handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, sorting mail, and maintaining records. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to provide a welcoming and professional environment for guests and clients.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a weekend receptionist?

To thrive as a Weekend Receptionist, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and basic administrative knowledge, typically supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. • Maintain efficient patient flow between reception and medical teams

  • Maintain detailed and confidential medical records
  • Assist with scheduling specialty rechecks and follow-up appointments

Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with ER doctors, specialty teams, and technicians
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area
  • Support overall hospital efficiency during peak caseload times

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare, veterinary, emergency, dental, or medical reception setting
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working evenings, rotating weekends, and holidays
  • Dependable and adaptable with strong attention to detail

Preferred Experience
  • Veterinary emergency or specialty hospital experience
  • Familiarity with veterinary practice management software
  • Experience handling difficult or emotional client interactions

Schedule Details
  • Full-Time position
  • Rotating weekends and holidays required
  • Day Shift and Evening/Swing Shift openings available
  • Option for 3x12 hour shift schedule
  • Final schedule determined based on hospital needs
