Job description

West Houston Production Director
Purpose of the Job:
To manage all aspects of Hope City's live production staff, serve team, and services for the West Houston campus.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
  • Two (2) years of experience in video production or broadcast environment
  • Knowledge of industry-specific practices, tools, and language; the ability to "talk the talk" with team members and external contacts
  • Intermediate Mac and PC proficiency
  • Preferred familiarity with equipment and programs such as ProPresenter, Ross Dashboard, BlackMagic, GrandMA2, Allen & Heath consoles, Epson projectors, and more.
  • Experience managing multiple project timelines and details while successfully keeping multiple team members on schedule and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work as a team player and discuss needs, challenges, and ideas
  • Ability to troubleshoot, think ahead, anticipate needs, offer creative solutions, and make things happen
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with others, including conflict resolution skills
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to drive projects to completion
  • Relational and team-building skills
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Manage all WHN Production operations required to support and facilitate Hope City services and events, including:
    • Providing daily direction and caring for WHN Production staff and Serve Team
    • Provide clear written and verbal direction to WHN Production staff and Serve Team under supervision in regards to assignments, job expectations, and vision, while freely delegating tasks and projects
    • Creating and upholding department policies regarding systems, training methods, knowledge base of documentation, workflow, etc. regarding production processes
    • Develop relationships interdepartmentally and with other campus departments through collaboration, communication, and focusing on a common goal
    • Engaging in long-term department planning
  • Oversee and manage services and events at the WHN campus as needed across all phases, especially team scheduling, content preparation, rehearsal, run through, and live weekend experiences
  • Attend planning meetings as needed for services and special events
  • Provide excellent communication with other campus departments, staff members, contractors, and team members about questions regarding service flow, talking points, impromptu updates for the broadcast experience, and production special event elements
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with production equipment setup and operation for all WHN services
  • Operate production booth equipment or camera positions as needed during regular weekly services, conferences, and special events
  • Assist other Hope City departments with production and/or production equipment support
  • Help manage and run production equipment during special events, retreats, and conferences
  • Assist with management of volunteer training sessions as needed
  • Participate in church-wide events
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned
