This position follows a weekend schedule consisting of three 12-hour shifts (3/12s), working Friday through Sunday from 5:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
Job Summary
Laser Mark Technician I: Responsible for general custom Laser Mark functions on all finished goods; including, but not limited to, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laser marking equipment, fulfilling orders, and image reworking. This position also troubleshoots, analyzes and helps customer service resolve customer problems in a timely, efficient and professional manner.
Laser Mark Technician II: Demonstrates proficiency as a Tech I and will process and engrave personalized warranty orders and work closely with the engineering team on process or technological developments.
Essential Job Functions/Duties
- Managing and completing laser mark orders to meet daily and weekly demand
- Become proficient in Material Handler I (Shipping) competencies
- Qualify artwork that is submitted by customers and make necessary modification to work within the laser's capabilities
- Create customer proofs using Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator
- Clean, maintain and adjust laser hardware
- Pulls, packs, and prepares all finished goods for shipment to customers using knowledge of UPS, Fed-X, DHL or USPS , while paying high attention to count accuracy, weight and size restrictions
- Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
- Inspect products for defects and damages
- Contributes ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures
- Executes housekeeping duties.
- Provides excellent service to internal stakeholders
- Perform department general assignments as requested
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent, and 1-2 years of laser marking experience is required. Equivalency to the qualification standard will also be considered.
- Ability to productively communicate with internal customers
- Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
- Must have flexible attitude, be detail-oriented, able to take detailed notes and follow through on commitments
- Good interpersonal skills
- Positive working attitude
- Mechanical aptitude a plus
- Must demonstrate good attendance and punctuality
Working Conditions
- Able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work safely with sharpened knives by following proper procedures and PPE Requirements
- Able to work in a manufacturing environment (exposure to dust, noise, oils and coolants, abrasives, heat, cold, adhesives, as well as automated and manual machinery).
- Closed shoes required at all times for all positions in manufacturing.
- Ability to stand on feet up to 100% of the day
