Job description

Ivy Tech Evansville seeks a Part Time Testing Proctor to work under limited supervision, administer and proctor of a range of certification and academic exams both on campus and virtually. This role provides appropriate proctoring services for both Ivy Tech students and non-Ivy Tech candidates according to required protocols and guidelines. The position will work closely with the Director of Testing Services and/or Lead Proctor to maintain currency (certified proctor) in skills and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Provide certification, assessment, and distance education exam administration according to designated proctor policies and procedures.
  • Complete all required proctor and employee training and stay current with exam protocol changes.
  • Adjust testing procedures for individuals according to documentation.
  • Assist with scheduling testing center activity.
  • Maintain inventory of certification testing materials, vouchers, score units, etc.
  • Assist the Testing Services Manager or Lead Proctor with assigned tasks that can be completed during slow proctoring periods.
  • Assist in keeping the assessment and certification centers organized, clean, supplied and well maintained.
  • Be willing to work flexible and expanded hours when the need arises and during heavy volume testing.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for assessments and certifications.
  • Train new proctors and provide updated training as procedures change.
  • Maintain proctor logs to ensure that the requirements of the WCC partner organizations are met.
  • Commits to annual professional development and career advancement activities.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Other duties as assigned including coverage of clerical functions as needed.
  • Participates in regional team activities as assigned.
  • Research new certification possibilities.
  • Works with supervisor to develop working relationships with faculty, student affairs, business affairs and distance education staff and vendors.

Work Hours:
  • Hours will depend on classes assigned but may include evenings.

Hiring Range:
  • This role is budgeted for $15.50 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree
  • Familiarity with computers and related technology.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Previous experience in higher education.
  • Previous work experience related to assessment.
