Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Arroyo Grande, California.

Job Description & Requirements

Travel RN – Labor & Delivery

Night Shift | 7:00 PM–7:00 AM | Level III Trauma

Assignment Details
  • Specialty: Labor & Delivery RN
  • Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts
  • Weekends: Every other weekend
  • Call: No traditional call; standby may be required
  • Holidays: Rotated with permanent staff
  • Float: L&D RNs may float to Postpartum
  • BSN Required: No
  • License to Submit: Yes
  • Care Setting: Acute Care
  • Trauma Level: Level III
  • EMR: Cerner
Required Certifications
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NRP
  • Advanced AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
  • COVID vaccination required
L&D / Postpartum Unit
  • 14 L&D beds
  • 6 triage beds
  • 2 OR suites
  • 28 Postpartum beds
  • Approximately 250 births per month
  • Charge RN available and typically kept out of patient assignment when possible
  • OB Techs available on both day and night shift
  • Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
  • Pharmacy available 24/7
  • Fetal monitoring system: Fetal Link
  • Telemetry: Philips
Patient Ratios
  • Laboring patients: typically 1 RN : 2 patients, following AWHONN guidelines
  • Postpartum: approximately 1:4 couplet care
Experience Requirements
  • C-section circulating experience required
  • Must be comfortable circulating C-sections independently
  • C-section scrub experience preferred
  • Experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients strongly preferred
Patient Population

RNs may care for:

  • Patients of any gestational age
  • Antepartum patients
  • High-risk deliveries
  • Pre-eclampsia
  • Insulin-dependent diabetes
  • Substance-use-related pregnancies
  • Routine and complex labor patients
Floating

L&D travelers should expect to float to Postpartum as needed and may be first to float. Postpartum RNs will not float into L&D.

Scrubs
  • L&D / OB Tech: Seal blue – provided
  • Postpartum RNs: Navy
Cancellation Policy

Facility may cancel up to:

  • 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment
  • 3 shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks

Strong fit for an experienced L&D traveler with high-risk OB experience, advanced fetal monitoring skills, and solid C-section circulating experience.
