Registered Nurse (RN) โ€“ Labor & Delivery

Location: Chicago, IL
Shift: Days | 3x12-Hour (7:00 AM โ€“ 7:30 PM)
Contract: 13 Weeks

 Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join a busy Level I Trauma Center in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients and providing exceptional care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum.

 Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients.
  • Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout labor and delivery.
  • Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and postpartum recovery.
  • Perform fetal monitoring, obstetrical triage, and sterile vaginal exams.
  • Administer medications, including magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, antihypertensives, and heparin drips.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Float to other units as needed within scope of practice.
Qualifications
  • Active Illinois RN License required.
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required.
  • High-risk (Level III) OB experience required.
  • BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and NIHSS certifications required.
  • Experience with Cerner EMR preferred.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
