We are currently seeking to hire a detail-oriented and dependable "Yarn Clerk" for second shift, 10 hour shift work (Hours are 5pm – 3:00am Mon.-Thur.) in our Highland Plant, located in Cheraw, SC. Schedules are customer driven and subject to change. We are currently working 4 days per week average. Friday and weekend work is sometimes required.  

Summary: 

This position’s main function is to retrieve from storage, receive and stage filling yarn for the preparation department; as assigned, to maintain enough yarn to run the looms for 24 hours.

Job Requirements: 

  • Must have previous forklift experience
  • Must provide evidence of previous experience working with and analyzing information
  • Must be able to demonstrate understanding and fluent use of Microsoft Office software programs
  • Must demonstrate good penmanship in all documentation, have previous exposure/experience with the SAP system; material handling, and inventory control experience.
  • Must be dependable and able to work autonomously, in a high volume working environment, be able to work multiple shifts / departments as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work safely, follow all safe work rules, attend required safety meetings/training, and report all accidents, incidents and near misses right away, to your Lead/Supervisor/Manager.
  • Audit yarn needs.
  • Retrieve and stage yarn in designated yarn areas.
  • Assist creelers loading yarn.
  • Clean up bad yarn packages and put back into production.
  • Pack and return bad yarn to producer.
  • Supply tare weights by lot to administrative area.
  • Perform routine daily maintenance on material handling equipment as required.
  • Return vendor returnable.
  • Band cardboard.
  • Assemble bad yarn packages for return credit
  • Perform housekeeping duties, dispose of trash, keep work areas neat, and clean
  • Perform other duties as needed by department Lead, Supervisor, or Manager.
