Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW

Our product creation teams combine creativity, innovation, and craftsmanship to deliver products that inspire athletes and consumers around the world. Through compelling graphics, storytelling, and design excellence, we create products that authentically connect sport, culture, and style.

The Graphic Designer plays a critical role in shaping the visual direction of licensed and basketball-inspired product across EuroLeague, NCAA, and related categories. This role is responsible for creating market-relevant graphics and product concepts that align with category strategies, consumer insights, and brand priorities.

Working closely with Product Marketing, Development, and cross-functional Design teams, this position drives the end-to-end graphic design process from concept through production. The role requires a balance of creative vision, technical expertise, and operational excellence to deliver innovative, commercially successful products at speed and scale.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Graphic Design Execution: Create high-volume graphic designs across apparel and related product categories while delivering premium, brand-right solutions that meet business and consumer needs.

Visual Storytelling: Translate consumer insights, trend research, and category direction into compelling visual narratives that elevate product and strengthen brand storytelling.

Print and Pattern Design: Develop placed graphics, all-over prints, typography treatments, and graphic systems that are scalable, versatile, and commercially relevant.

Creative Innovation: Deliver trend-relevant and innovative design solutions that reflect evolving sportswear, streetwear, and basketball culture.

Category Support: Support product creation initiatives across EuroLeague, NCAA, licensing, and related categories while ensuring consistency with category and brand objectives.

Product Development Support: Build accurate graphic specifications and technical packages to support efficient product development and manufacturing execution.

Production Readiness: Prepare complete handoff packages including artwork, trims, color specifications, and construction details to ensure seamless execution through commercialization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Development, Product Marketing, and Design teams to align on product direction, execution timelines, and launch readiness.

Digital Visualization: Utilize Adobe Creative Suite and 3D visualization tools to communicate concepts, refine design intent, and support decision-making.

Project Management: Manage the full design process from ideation through final execution while balancing multiple projects, priorities, and timelines.

Brand Stewardship: Ensure all design solutions align with adidas brand standards, category guidelines, and quality expectations.

Communication: Clearly articulate design concepts, rationale, and execution details to internal stakeholders and cross-functional partners.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Graphic Design, Apparel Design, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in apparel graphics, sportswear design, or a related creative field.

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator and Photoshop.

• Demonstrated expertise in apparel graphic design, typography, illustration, print, pattern, and color application.

• Strong understanding of sportswear product creation processes and graphic execution.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

• Strong verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Experience working within basketball, collegiate, licensed, or team sports categories.

• Familiarity with 3D design and visualization tools such as CLO3D.

• Knowledge of current sportswear, streetwear, and cultural trends.

• Experience developing graphics for global consumer markets.

• Experience working within a large, matrixed, or international organization.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is based in Los Angeles, California and follows adidas' hybrid work model. Employees are expected to work in the office Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays. Additional in-office attendance may be required based on business needs, collaboration requirements, or presentations. The role operates in a highly collaborative and fast-paced creative environment that requires close partnership with cross-functional teams throughout the product creation process.


REPORTING STRUCTURE

This role reports into the Graphic Design leadership team and collaborates extensively with Product Marketing, Development, and cross-functional Design partners. The position works closely with category teams supporting EuroLeague, NCAA, and licensing businesses while contributing to broader creative and product creation initiatives across the organization.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary Range: $103,620 - $123,638 annually.

Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, and overall alignment to the requirements of the position.
