Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Hospice House team. In this specialized role, you will provide holistic nursing care to patients and families facing life-limiting illness, ensuring dignity, comfort, and support. Working closely with interdisciplinary team members, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality hospice and palliative care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process, addressing physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.
  • Coordinate patient/family education, discharge planning, and transfer processes.
  • Administer medications, including subcutaneous injections and pain management therapies, with precision and compassion.
  • Perform sterile dressing changes and follow infection control protocols.
  • Accurately assess and document patient conditions, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with hospice standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (IDT) to update and coordinate individualized care plans.
  • Support and supervise CNAs, providing delegation and guidance as needed.
  • Respond appropriately to patient emergencies and changes in condition.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect for patient and family beliefs, values, and traditions.
  • Assist with orientation of new staff and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Ensure adherence to NARMC's HIPAA, compliance, and ethical conduct standards.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current RN license with the Arkansas State Board of Nursing or Compact Multistate Licensure.
  • BLS certification.
  • One year of hospital or nursing home experience.
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills and ability to work independently.
  • Reliable transportation and valid Arkansas driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • 1–2 years of hospice nursing experience.
  • HPCN (Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center) Certification.
  • 3–5 years of experience in hospital or long-term care nursing.
