We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to support our Psychiatric Outpatient Program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedules patient appointments, answers general questions, obtains authorizations and pre-authorizations for patient care services
  • Processes, tracks and manages credentialing and networking of individual providers
  • Schedules appointments with ancillary departments or other care providers as needed
  • Maintains master calendar for clinicians
  • Completes required paperwork or documentation
  • Process insurance forms and maintains logs
  • Files charts according to established procedures
  • Coordinates submission of appropriate charges to billing department
  • Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to clients or customers
  • Provides assistance in the day-to-day administration of the department
  • Oversees equipment and office supply inventories or initiates service request and supply orders
  • Performs a variety of clerical duties (i.e. photocopies, collates, distributes mails, faxes, files, delivers and/or picks up materials)

Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School or equivalent

Minimum Experience: 2+ Years

Minimum Field of Expertise: Medical secretarial experience in a comparable environment
