Job description

Medical Receptionist

Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Medical Receptionist to join our Primary Care team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

Position Summary:

Call Center:

  • Primarily responsible for rapidly and accurately answering and responding to incoming telephone calls from patients and/or employer groups. Employees will meet the department specific agent expectations regarding measurement and follow the defined guidelines and processes of the department.

Front Desk:

  • Primarily responsible for providing support to greet patients, collect co-pays, schedule follow-up appointments and referrals and support departmental clerical duties.

Both areas will provide support to the department/site ensuring quality service through timely and courteous assistance and provide service support to patients and employers groups who request our care. They will both maintain patient confidentiality to protect patient rights.

Furthermore, employees will provide excellent customer service, complete defined work in a timely and professional manner, support on-going process improvement and organizational/department changes, identify self and department in all phone interactions, accept additional related tasks and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Locations:

  • Float between Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Chanhassen, Shakopee, Prior Lake, Lakeville, and Burnsville Clinics
  • There can be last-minute changes to a float's schedule, so reliable transportation is required. At times, this may include switching sites in the middle of a shift.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8hr shifts. Start time can vary between 10am to 2pm with occasional weekends (every 1-2 months)

Required Qualifications:

  • 6 months related experience
  • Accurate computer/keyboarding skills required.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
  • Must be proficient in the operation of the following types of equipment: telephone and headsets, PC, printer, photo copier and fax machine.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical background
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Human relations sensitivity and customer service skills
  • Listening and telephone etiquette skills
  • Medical terminology knowledge desirable
  • Comfort in asking patients for copays and race collection.
  • Ability to promote and maintain good patient relations and patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and structured environment.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
